Best Songs of 2008: No. 18

    'Burnin' Up,' Jonas Brothers

Laugh all you want, but the Jo Bros actually have more in common with the Beatles than the Monkees. Before they were teen sensations, they were a struggling working band who were rejected by a major label. They also write their own songs, and they struck gold with 'Burnin' Up,' a wicked catchy little number that could be heard piping out of minivans -- and on more subway iPods than most of us would care to admit.

First, let me say I'm not one for all the Jonas Brothers hype or mainstream artists period. Second, I love music and all genres classified under it. However, in my opinion, they're just another young, "idealistically" attractive, heart-throb, teenage, boy pop band that makes the little girlies go crazy. They're vividly reminiscent of all the other popular boybands before them and the many sure to come. The only difference is they have guitars in their hands. There's nothing unique about them or they're music. The song is okay, but not even remotely diverse enough to suit the taste of the more mature, cultured masses. Question: IF you took away their prepubisent "good looks" and left nothing, but the music, how far do you think they would go?

nobody really hates the jonas brothers, imean honistly, there are three types of ppl in the jonas brother fan world. (1.) the ppl who are absolutly in love with the jonas brothers (or just pretending to be, because their friends are) (2.) The people who say they "hate" the jonas brothers, probobly to either get attencion, or seem unique. (3.) the people who either dont care, the ppl that may not like them but they dont make a huge deal out of it, or the ppl that think there alright but not amazing.

Comparing the Jonas Brothers to The Beatles is like comparing a kitten to a mountain lion... In the end the mountain lion is always going to kick the kitten's ass...

Maybe these boys can write decent songs, but, please, don't say they can sing. I'm no critic, but I'm not deaf and when they sangon "Dancing With The Stars", I was embarrased for them. It was sad

I was alright with this list until I saw the Jonas Brothers being compared to the Beatles. I don't care if you like them, but that comparison was just dumb.
