This all-star collective of members of the Dap-Kings, Antibalas, the Budos Band, and El Michels Affair, gave us the one thing it was missing: Afrobeat for the rest of us. Infused with the soul you'd expect from a Daptone act, and the brassy funk you'd expect from others, 'Make the Road' is a dub-informed instrumental that would've made even Shaft smile. Jay-Z must have beamed himself, as he famously sampled it for his "Roc Boys" single.

Finally!!! Something truly original and unlike anything you hear everyday. It's got a great mix of soul, flavor, and jazz. It's upbeat yet, smooth. I've never heard of this band or this song, but falling in love already. I would love to hear more from them. IF I'm not mistaken, I believe this song has been sampled already. I just can't remember by who. I want to say Kanye. Don't quote me.

Your song is Great!...Reminded me of the late 70's...in particular "BlackByrd", Chick Corea, even some Miles.
