    On This Date in 1973: Jermaine Jackson marries Hazel Gordy, a daughter of Berry Gordy, the head of the Jackson 5's label, Motown Records.

    The Almanac Advises for December 15: "Traditionally, royal dynasties are created when scions of two families wed. There is often, however, a power differential between the two clans, with the less sovereign one gaining prestige and influence for his family line."
