Cornell Gets Axes Back From Ex

At long last, Chris Cornell has gotten his guitars back from his ex-wife. The singer's prized collection of axes were the fruits of a long-standing lawsuit against his former spouse and one-time manager Susan Silver.

"I was dusting off the fifteen or so guitars that I recently had returned to me," he wrote on his blog. "Someone had decided that maybe the tools of my trade and guitars I played on my entire catalog should be in their possession forever." That catalog spans Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, in addition to his solo outings.

"It seems to me that some strangely desperate people involved in the music business forget that they are not the ones that write these songs, spill their guts and expose themselves to the public on the most personal level," he wrote.

"We invent this s--- and f---ing own it, and no matter what, nothing will change that."

Chris! Never knew you lost those guitars, man...I'm proud of you for putting your foot down and saying, "those are mine!". Glad you got them back.

True they are materialistic to a degree.
However, not knowing if you are a musician or not...
They are all individual in sound and playability in recording and writing. Not to mention, believe it or not, sentimental value. An example is the first guitar (which I still have)from my father 20 yrs ago means the world to me. Because so much can come from an instrument. Sounds, feeling, soul, creativity, emotion. To me it's not like the first car he got me.
To me the guitar meant much more. Just my thoughts.

Good for you Chris. You're lucky she didn't stake her claim on your penis because as we all know a guitar is an extension of the penis and is the main source for all lyrical content.

Anyone in the music biz knows that Chris screwed Susan Silver--and their child over. She is a very well respected manager, and he is the one who has not acted well in this breakup.
