Slipknot Frontman Hates Him Some Coldplay

Ok, you guys slagging off slipknot, fair enough. you are entitled to your own opinion. But it sounds to me like many of you do not actually have your own frame of reference. They are a fantastic band. Musically, there are not many bands who can play like them, but lyrically, they are peerless. I am an English teacher and have been told by a few students over the years to check them out. Eventually i did, and their writing, weird to say as it is, is pure and intelligent poetry. I've never ever come across writing like it and i listen to many different things and lyrics are very important to me. When their singer goes on rants like this, you could be forgiven for thinking he doesn't know many other words other than cuss words, but he is a genuine master of language and its manipulation, which i also think explains why he doesn't care about how he is seen.

Coldplay is an awsome band.
I guess he's just jealous because of Coldplay's sucess.

First off, I always get a kick out of watching how the conversations on here always go from discussing the topic, to turning into huge argument. When you wake up in the morning, none of this will count for anything. Secondly, I'll admit, I like Coldplay, and I'm not a Slipknot fan. Both of them are mainstream, BIG time mainstream, and both deserve respect for their longevity as bands; that's a rare thing among the incredible amount of bands on the market today. Ok, should Corey have said what he said? No not all, the comment he made made lose any respect I might have had for him. No one was attacking him. Is Chris Martin self-centered? Maybe, but I can't take a band seriously that wears masks. Not to bash either bands' talent though.

Do you sit all day around the computer waiting for someone to say something negative about slipknot so you can jump to their defense. Excuse me for believing everyone has a right to their opinion, regardless of what type of language they want to convey it in.

icemonster21..Colplay wrote many songs dealing with real issues: Green Eyes about one of Chris Martin's ex, Moses which he wrote for his son Moses, many inspired by his life both before making it big and when married...Just because it does not come across to you as with thought then what is with thought?Would some country music work for you since you know it has "thought" involved..

Oh I am sorry but U2 has been around for 30 years SINCADO! In case you are afan of Slipknot I feel sorry for you since you have to listen to someone who cannot formulate a sentence,cursese every two words and my favorite insults another band.The only reason someone does this is because of revenge,they are trying to get attention or to stir controversies.I am sorry but when did Slipknot ever star in an Apple commercial?Oh yeah they did not so if they were so popular they would have all these offers coming their way but appearantly I have never heard of them so that says how well they are known. Second of all Coldplay is not producing crap and comparing to today's music where everone "writes their music"(yeah right!)they actually work their butts off, sell out when it comes to concerts, have good hits and are a younger version of U2 to me.

First and foremost this is stupid.You insult someone else's music in hope of trying to come off as better?Come on!If someone has the decency as well as respect and hopes that their fans as well as other fans do not get offended they ought to watch what they say.The words that came out of this person's mouth were both immature,stupid,angry and stirred controversy.Fruthermore even if he dislikes Colplay he can make a comment on how they are not his type of genre but comment no further yet it seems that this person either neither gave an interview before of wanted full revenge on Colplay.So what if Coldplay borrowed sounds from other fellow musicians?If they(Slipknot) tell us that they were not influenced by other artists and use their sound then that is bull because that is how we evolve. I like Coldplay, have seen them change music-wise and enjoy listening to their music since I can relate to it.The mature people are the ones that speak less and this person from Slipknot proved how stupid he is as well as bitter.I do not care if he does not like Coldplay but he should of kept some of the comments to himself and I think that he has dug himself in a hole.Coldplay is thinking "He might be laughing at us but fans at mad at him!What an ass!"
