On This Date in 1969: 'Someday We'll Be Together,' by Diana Ross and the Supremes, takes over the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. It is the last single released before Ross leaves the group for a solo career. The Almanac Advises for December 27: "With the proliferation of social networking sites such as Facebook, reunions between people who have lost touch with one another have become easier and more prevalent."
