Potent Quotables: Bono So Over Himself

"I'm bored of Bono and I am him -- I'm sick of me." --Bono
In a recent interview with Q Magazine, U2's frontman issued himself an uncharacteristically self-deprecating blow.

what is this CRAP?? i am a sixteen year old american and even I am not tired of bono!! though i admit he is not always respectful enough of us americans (and you know that we teenagers take EVERYTHING personally) his seemingly pointless ranting actually has some fine points.
the genocide and spreading of aids in africa IS an important topic, and if most americans weren't so pig-headed bono would not be 'shoving his message down our throats'!!
political views aside, bono is an amazing artist and has made great strides in the musical world, and for that i have to respect him
Oh i could NEVER get sick of you, you hot POA!

January 10 2009 at 3:44 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyJanie-- I agree 100% with everything you have said. My disgust and loathing for Bono and his constant anti-American rants could not have been more articulately stated than you have. Thank you.

January 10 2009 at 1:58 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyThank God he is over himself.I am truly glad to hear it.I have always despised the moron and have long ago grown tired of him dumping on america for all the worlds problems. If he think we are such horrible people then he needs to carry his ugly self back across the pond.He don't have any problem with sucking up american dollars from anyone dumb enough to buy a ticket to hear his lousy music.Go away bono, you make me ashamed that i am half Irish.
