It's long been said that one should never date a musician. This may be an argument in favor, folks.Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood reportedly splurged on a vintage guitar once played by rock legend Jimi Hendrix, paying £13,000 for the axe, a gift for his young girlfriend Ekaterina Ivanova.
A friend of the 20-year-old told Ivanova told the Sun, "she fell in love with the guitar before Christmas but rather than buying it while she was with him, Ronnie wanted to wait and surprise her."
"He loves to treat her with gifts and tokens of his affection," she added. "He has been spending a small fortune on her which she is more than happy to take."
Ever the romantic, Wood supposedly had his and Eka's initials inscribed on the guitar alongside the inscription, "Sweet as a daisy, sweet as a pearl, you'll always be my little kitten."
At least it wasn't a tattoo.

Nice way to ruin a piece of history by slapping your initials and an inscription on it. Could'nt you have just bought a card instead of defacing such a rare item.

He is a ROLLING STONE and a member of FACES with Rod stewart the value of that guitar has tripled in value with the addittion of his initials. He is not the greatest guitarist but he is an accomplished guitarist in his own rights

The banner was SO misleading! I want to know how AOL devalued the Dollar SO badly. By current exchange rates, 13,000GBP is 19,343.34 USD, NOT $30,000 as they claim in the header to get you to come read this article. What a load of CRAP from AOL!

Have you priced out a vintage guitar recently.
I have 16 guitars of various values, let me tell you it is not that hard to drop $5,000 - $10,000 for a nice 60s
SG or Strat; and that with out a famous name attached to it's history.
A guitar out of Wood's collection could bring in $10,000 even if it was nothing special.
If I remember correctly, Clapton's (Brown Strat) sold for some $300,000.00
I wonder if this Hendrix guitar was a pre CBS.
Got to LOVE the Stones. Wood is a great guitarist and a good 2D artist as well. I do think it sucks that he left his wife after she stuck with him through his drug problem. I think she di collect $90 million though.
