Brit Rocker Offers Duffy Psychiatric Help

Duffy would like to make one thing perfectly clear: she has not had a nervous breakdown. But the burgeoning Welsh superstar and three-time Grammy nominee just might if the rumors floating around about her collapse don't stop.

It all started last fall when, she says, a Welsh journalist asked her about her holiday plans. "I answered I was having a nervous breakdown. I said it in jest," she tells Spinner. However, the comment hit the wires and she's been clawing her way back to the sanity she never lost, one day at a time. But at least she can comfort herself that others are truly concerned about her welfare. "Just today, some British rock legend rang my manager and left a voicemail that they had someone who could help with that -- a really good therapist."

She wouldn't tell us who the "British rock legend" is. We named David Bowie and Paul McCartney. She swatted both down and gave us the clues: "in a band" and "a genius." Let the guessing begin.
