Weezer to Possibly, Maybe Tour With Oasis

Speaking of modesty, Weezer's River Cuomo claims that the band's recent 'Troublemaker' tour felt like "the greatest show on earth." Hmm. If that sounds like something Liam Gallagher might say about his own circus, well, perhaps it is no coincidence. Cuomo tells Spinner that Weezer is, in fact, "planning the next leg of the tour to start up again in May of 2009 -- possibly with Oasis." Gee, we don't see any potential ego-clashes there."I've noticed over the past few Weezer tours that we just keep getting better and reaching new heights -- both the band, in terms of the power of their sound, but also me as a frontman and performer," Cuomo says.
Last fall, the Weezer rumor mill caused quite a stir when it was reported that the band had plans to record the follow-up to the 'Red Album' immediately after the conclusion of their fall tour, which wrapped up in November. Cuomo says the band did indeed record -- Christmas carols for an iPhone game. Next in line, Weezer plans to release a Spike Jonze video for 'The Greatest Man That Ever Lived' and stick with the color red for awhile.
"We have another tour coming up, like I said, with Oasis," Cuomo says. "Of course, we're always writing and recording and looking towards the next album as well."
