David Bowie is back in Berlin -- the German city that inspired three of his most important albums -- to work on a new music."Cheers from a snowy Berlin! Working on some new material!" Bowie writes in a new Twitter message to fans. Bowie's last album of new songs was 2003's 'Reality.'
Bowie's seminal albums 'Low' (1977), 'Heroes' (1977) and 'Lodger' (1979) are commonly known to the rock world as his 'Berlin Trilogy.' All were heavily influenced by German music at the time. While 'Low' and 'Lodger' were partly recorded in Berlin, 'Heroes' is the only album fully recorded in the city.
Each of those three discs were produced by Tony Visconti, and all featured the work of Brian Eno on various instruments as well.
