"I had the brew, she had the chronic/The Lakers beat the Supersonics" --Ice Cube's 'It Was a Good Day' (1993)
The Seattle Supersonics are now the Oklahoma City Thunder, so we'll need to retrofit the first half of this rhyme to match the relocated NBA team's new name. How about "I had the Drano, she had the plunger"? You're welcome, Cube.

This is where you messed up. Ice Cube wrote that song as a REFLECTION of a particular day he was remembering. So what if the team moved? The lyrics were written in past tense in 1993, so it's pretty obvious they wouldn't ever NOT be past tense today either...
Ooooops.

This is one of the best rap songs ever written, one of the few ones where you can really feel what he's going through. Man he's gangsta. Being in NWA, saying fuck tha police, starring in G-rated Disney films....hahaha wtf Cubester??

It is expected that lyrics will become outdated. These are oldies. For instance, regarding sports. There was this Lyric from Babalu's Wedding Day by the Eternals (1958): 'Met his woman at a baseball game: played second base for the Milwaukee Braves" or, from Bobby Russel's 1432 Franklin Pike Circle Hero: (1968) "Chrismastime took them down to see the floats when he'd rather stay home and watch the Baltimore Colts".
