Actually, it's about to be true again. For those of us who can't afford Cable or DVR subscriptions, and whose VCRs won't work with our analog converter boxes... everything old is new again. Three cheers for Hulu.com - but there are those who can't afford the Internet either. Free TV is a thing of the past.

Actually, that lyric was outdated when the song came out. VCRs had been widely available for well over a decade and no more difficult to program than a DVR or TiVo (despite all the comedy shows that suggested otherwise).

He would still have to record everything that was on, and even TIVO won't do that. THERE is NOTHING ON ANYWAY, so don't worry! What was that song "80 something channels and nothing on"?
