Ra Ra Riot Off to Riotous Start in 2009

During Ra Ra Riot's fall tour, the band told Spinner that they like to spend a lot of their downtime on the road just cruising around the internet and watching all their favorite television shows via DVD box sets. "We come back from the concerts and I'm exhausted and we geek out," said violinist Rebecca Zeller.

It's a good thing that hotels have free wi-fi and that the television writers' strike is long gone, because Ra Ra Riot are headed right back out on the road. The band will open shows for Death Cab for Cutie (along with Matt Costa and Cold War Kids) for a month-long jaunt in April. Before that, they will support Tokyo Police Club for a week. And before that, they have various dates scheduled for the UK, France, Canada and select markets in the U.S.

Additionally, a CD single for the song 'Can You Tell' is scheduled for a March 3 release, featuring five songs (four of them remixes and/or unreleased versions) and a bonus live video. Not bad for a bunch of geeky kids who would otherwise be hermiting in their rooms, checking Facebook and catching up on the most recent episodes of '30 Rock.' Keep up the good work, guys and gals.
