Lamb of God 'Plague' Fans With Contest

To sell music these days, you gotta be inventive. No one has to tell Virginia-based metal rockers Lamb of God this. To that end, the band are launching the 'Escape the Plague' promotion -- a contest for fans who purchase Lamb of God's new album, 'Wrath.'

"In celebration of the release of 'Wrath' and to thank our fans for continued loyalty and support, we've compiled a massive collection of prizes and put together a contest unlike no other I have ever seen," guitarist Mark Morton told Spinner. "A few free t-shirts wasn't going to cut it this time, so we're offering instrument packages, guitar lessons, trips to the UK and other things. We've always enjoyed allowing our fans to participate in as much of what we do as possible, and the 'Escape the Plague' contest is an opportunity for us to continue that tradition. Good luck and we look forward to seeing you all as we embark on our world tour in support of 'Wrath.'"

How it works is this: the first 100,000 copies of 'Wrath' will come outfitted with a redeemable card directing buyers to a website, where they punch in a specific code, answer three easy trivia questions and are automatically entered into a lottery where they can win a variety of fan friendly prizes. What prizes, you ask? Well, folks can win the opportunity to have frontman D. Randall Blythe come to their house and barbecue, a chance to sing onstage with the band during a live performance, a Chris Adler drum kit, a Mark Morton guitar and a Willie Adler guitar.

Additionally, there's the chance to win tickets one of the band's performances at a massive European festival. Winners will be chosen randomly and will be provided with access to a page where they can choose a prize on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once a prize is selected, it's no longer available. Get it? Got it? Good.

'Wrath' hits shelves on February 24.
