Ryan Adams and Mandy Moore Engaged?

To say Ryan Adams is unpredictable is an understatement. But at least he's predictably unpredictable. Anyway, here's another one for you: Adams and ex-girlfriend Mandy Moore (yes, that one) are reportedly engaged.

Life & Style reports that the couple was spotted in Los Angeles Tuesday, with Moore wearing a ring on her engagement finger. Their source says, "She is so excited about their engagement but admits it's been a whirlwind. She's really happy." There has been no official comment from their reps yet.

Moore, now 24, and Adams, 34, dated for a few months before splitting last July. Moore's last public romance was with Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, who she visited in the burn unit after his plane crash with Blink-182's Travis Barker.

Adams, however, seemed a little ominous on the love front in October when he came with the Cardinals into our studios for a Sessions taping. "I'm, like, really highly volatile right now because I'm 33 and I'm going to die alone," he said. "The woman I love decided to be with someone else, so f--- me. This woman I loved is never going to love me back because I screwed it up. One minute I had it and we could have fixed it but I didn't fix it."

Oh, Ryan. Never say never.
