Singer Emma Sophina Writes Song After Hudson Plane Crash

Every new artist has a story. Austrialian singer Emma Sophina's takes the cake. The 26-year-old was a passenger on the US Airways plane that crashed into the Hudson River last month, and her song to Pilot Chesley Sullenberger -- aka Sully -- is making her an American star.Coincidentally, Sophina was in New York searching for musical inspiration when she decided to board the flight to visit friends. When the plane started to go down, she began praying, like all the passengers around her. After the rescue, Sophina channeled the experience into lyrics, writing and recording 'Send Another Prayer,' a song she says is "a thank you to the pilots" for giving her "the gift of life."
The instant celebrity from the song and the resulting press has already landed Sophina a recording contract with Decca. She says claims her ultimate goal is to sing with Stevie Wonder. Hey, if the Jonas Brothers can ...
