Black Kids Play 'Hooky'

Just a few years ago, Black Kids frontman Reggie Youngblood wrote the band's feel-good hook-heavy hit 'I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance' in his cubicle at a call center in his hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. He's come a long way from his office space. "Thinking about the journey that the song made, really, to me was phenomenal," Youngblood tells Spinner at the band's Interface taping. "I think you can never have enough hooks. Even though [people] were complaining [about the hooks], it's a good problem to have."

The quintet is about to embark on a co-headlining tour with Mates of State in April, but you can catch the action right here as the band does their thing in our L.A. studio before they hit the road.
