With Phish reuniting full-time, Trey Anastasio is on track to reclaim his title as the Jam King. However, the singer/guitarist has, for years now, also indulged his classical music fantasies, orchestrating Phish songs such as 'Guyute' as well as other originals for live symphonic performances. Sandwiched between Phish's big comeback in March and their full-scale summer tour in June, Anastasio will pair up with musical director Marin Alsop in leading the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra through some of Phish's greatest hits and his newest orchestrated original, 'Time Turns Elastic,' which he debuted with Orchestra Nashville this past fall. The one-off presentation takes place on May 21 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore.
To those planning to attend, we shouldn't have to mention this, but, um, patchworks and Birkenstocks probably aren't appropriate attire. Jus' sayin'.
