'Rock Star: INXS' Winner Homeless After Getting Fired

After winning a reality show to be the new frontman of INXS, J.D. Fortune was riding high. Now, four years later, the singer is without a job and without a home.

Fortune is now back in his native Canada, living out of a pickup truck after the band fired him. "I was in an airport in Hong Kong and literally got handshakes of 'Thank you very much,'" he said in an interview with 'Entertainment Tonight Canada.' "I found myself really alone because I had travelled with these guys for 23 months."

The Australian band reportedly canned the 35-year-old Fortune because of his cocaine addiction. The same drug was found in the system of original singer Michael Hutchence when he died in 1997, under bizarre circumstances.

Coincidentally, Fortune was living in a car when he originally auditioned for the CBS show. He now claims he's been clean for two years and that his money was spent recording a solo album, 'The Death of a Motivational Speaker,' that will be released later this year.
