Wild Light's single 'California On My Mind' may have to be censored on radio for its call to "f--- San Francisco" and "f--- California," but the New Hampshire-based indie pop band assured Spinner that they haven't alienated potential West Coast fans."It was good. They liked it," Wild Light's Tim Kyle said of the first time the group -- Kyle, Jordan Alexander, Seth Kasper and Seth Pitnam -- performed the song in California. Kyle, stopping by the Spinner office with his bandmates for an acoustic performance, added that they even "played in San Francisco, and they liked it."
Guitarist Jordan Alexander said that the single came to him when he was living in California at one point and trying to start a band. "It wasn't working too well," he said. "I was sitting on this lake and kind of depressed."
Things seem to be looking up for Alexander and his bandmates now. Their album, 'Adult Nights,' is set to be released on March 3, and they've already opened for the likes of Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem.
Wild Light are currently on tour, and will play a showcase at SXSW on March 19. Listen to the full album on Spinner's Listening Party next week.
