Adele's Dream Gig With Etta James to Become a Reality

After picking up two Grammys last month, it seemed things couldn't get much better for Adele. But just a few weeks after the awards show, the 20-year-old British singer announced that an upcoming Los Angeles gig would feature a very special guest -- her hero, Etta James.

"It hasn't really sunk in yet that we're going to be on the same stage," Adele tells Spinner about sharing a bill with the R&B legend. "I'm so excited. It's just incredible." She originally broke the news on her MySpace blog in a post titled "BEST THING EVER!!!!" where she gushed over the prospect of performing with her "favourite singer ever." The pair will co-headline a show at the Hollywood Bowl on June 28th.

Adele hopes this time around she won't be too nervous to talk to James. "I haven't met her. I tried to," she says. "Well, I didn't try, but at Fashion Rocks in New York, she was sitting, like, five rows in front of me, but I just couldn't. I probably would've said the stupidest things to her. I would've scared the life out of her."

While the pair has yet to discuss any plans for sharing the stage, Adele is certainly pining for a duet with one of her biggest musical influences. "I'm going to suggest it," she says. "I can sing any of her songs. They're all amazing, so I'd be happy to sing any of them." And we'll be happy to hear anything these two sing together.
