Clash of the Cover Songs: TV on the Radio vs. the Wallflowers

The Rules for Battle: Each week, we pit versions of the same song by two different artists in a head-to-head death match for musical supremacy. (Sometimes it will be the original recording vs. a cover version; other times it will be two different covers.) Then it's up to you to decide: Listen to and vote on which version you think should emerge victorious and which should be sent packing. May the best band win!

In This Corner -- TV on the Radio: These eclectic Brooklyn scenesters have being indulging in a love affair with Mr. Bowie for some time now -- he lent his vocals to TVOTR's 2006 offering 'Return to Cookie Mountain.' Check out their bass-eous and atmospheric electro-pop take on the Thin White Duke's 1977 classic.

In This Corner -- the Wallflowers: Jakob ("Son of a Bob") Dylan's band is probably accustomed to having big shoes to fill and, as such, seem at ease with their interpretation of this Bowie/Eno masterpiece. This straight-up rock rendering found its way onto the 'Godzilla' soundtrack (yikes!), but in no way should your vote be colored by that, People of the Clash -- vote with your ears!
