Lily Allen is back in a big way after her ascent to stardom with her debut album, 'Alright, Still.' Since 2006, she's experienced both highs and lows, including a very public miscarriage. "There was a lot of stuff when I miscarried my child, you know, that people wrote really negative things about," she tells Spinner. "Why they thought I miscarried, like I'd been drinking or smoking or that kind of stuff. It was really upsetting."Now, Allen is striking back with her hit single 'The Fear,' a biting social commentary on consumption and fame where all is right in the world as long as the singer is "packing plastic."
Allen put her own "plastic" to good use when she found out her new album, 'It's Not Me, It's You' debuted in her native U.K. at No. 1. To celebrate, she turned to one of the world's oldest past times: shopping. "I went shopping with godmother," she tells Spinner. "We went to Maxfields on Robertson [Ave. in Los Angeles] and I bought myself a jacket."
But ask Allen about her biggest fear and the talk quickly turns serious. "My biggest fear? I guess, dying alone maybe," she tells Spinner. "I don't think about it a lot, but if I think about what I'm most scared of, that would probably be it."
