When you hear a little bit of Faces-era Rod Stewart when listening to Pete Yorn's latest, 'Don't Wanna Cry,' that may be more than a coincidence. Yorn told Spinner he had Stewart in mind when he recorded the song for his upcoming album, 'Back and Fourth,' produced by Mike Mogis and executive produced by Rick Rubin, due June 23. "The presentation of that song could have gone tons of different ways," Yorn says. "I think of Rod Stewart singing the song. I naturally may have played that up a little bit. That song's about somebody who's in a lot of pain, a lot of guilt. Somebody trying to cut out because they couldn't really handle what life was dealing them at the time." Here's to sticking around, Pete.Download: 'Don't Wanna Cry' (MP3)
