The Crystal Method are stoked about their new single, 'Drown in the Now,' a collaboration with Matisyahu. The track the L.A. duo of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland recorded with the Brooklyn-based Hasidic Jewish reggae rapper comes in advance of the electronic music giants' fourth studio album, 'Divided by Night,' which is out on May 12."We met Matisyahu at a festival in British Columbia last July," Kirkland said on his blog. "His tour manager approached us about him joining us onstage for a song and we thought it was a cool idea. He came by our trailer and we played him 'High Roller' off 'Vegas,' and he thought it was great. He came out with us about an hour later and his performance was magical."
In the studio, the working relationship blossomed. "He delivered something unique that helped create a great vibe for the rest of the album," Kirkland added.
If Matisyahu's appearance wasn't enough, the upcoming set (which the Crystal Method will promote with a high-profile Coachella performance on April 17) also counts cameos from She Wants Revenge frontman Justin Warfield, New Order bassist Peter Hook, Metric's Emily Haines and former Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle.
