Music Appreciation: Rachael Ray
- Posted on Mar 19th 2009 3:00PM by Scott Tomford
It might surprise you, but Food Network superstar Rachael Ray's got an appetite for indie rock. After shocking the blogosphere last year with an SXSW party featuring the Stills and the Raveonettes, again Ray's showcase features both "yum-o" bands and food. This year, she's professing her love for a certain set of Brooklyn rockers: "I'm a huge Hold Steady fan! Seriously."Download Hold Steady Songs

oh lord, I absolutely love rachel ray. Her meals are easy, quick, and full of flavor. And so what if she loves indie rock...I like old heavy metal bands like kiss and motley crue and van halen oh yea and quiet riot, does that make me a head case? so you don't like her show, don't friggen watch it, you don't like her commercials? change the friggen channel, you don't like her food network shows, don't watch them! easy as that.

There was only one time I didn't like her approach; it was for the next food chef; she was rude to a couple of the competing women..said they didn't look at the camera enough. I remember several episodes where she didn't look at the camera much; esp. that time all the bad publisity came out about her husband and his ex girlfriends. She didn't even smile on several shows she did. But overall; I enjoy the show for what its worth; at least she doesn't dress sleezy to sell tickets.....like some food network "cook at its"..lmao.

March 20 2009 at 12:38 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI think I smell some food snobs. I like the comment that Food Network is catering to the people who pay the bills, not the peoplel who whine and watch something else.
March 19 2009 at 11:20 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyFood Network replaced the chefs with cooks so that people at home felt that they could actually approach some of the recipes with confidence. Some of the recipes that the chefs were making were complicated. Homemakers and other cooks were looking for quick and easy meals for themselves or a family. Don't blame Food Network for catering to its audience.
