Mick Jones is a pack rat. After years of hording music-related collectibles, the former Clash guitarist has put his personal collection on display. "The Rock and Roll Library" is on temporary display at London's Chelsea Space gallery while the punk icon hunts down a permanent location to house the archive."It's a fantastic collection people can take great pleasure from and also learn something," Jones explains in the Guardian. "I started collecting things when I was very young and I did not really know why. Then at the millennium, the change of the century, it started to become clear. I realized I wanted to share it."
Counting hundreds of items, from Sinatra albums to handwritten notes from his late Clash mate Joe Strummer -- not to mention vintage rock magazines like Creem and Rock Scene -- Jones, 53, calls his collection "one big living artwork... Ultimately, I'd like to have a permanent place to exhibit the whole collection like a museum, like a library."
