M.I.A.'s Real Baby Name Revealed

After Sri Lankan-born rapper M.I.A. lambasted the media for reporting her baby boy's name was Ickitt, it turns out that the kid is actually named ... Ikhyd. Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman, to be specific.

It's unclear where Ikhyd comes from, but Arular is the title of M.I.A.'s first album, as well as her father's old political codename, while Bronfman is father Benjamin Brewer's real surname, and Edgar comes from Brewer's father.

After reports that the baby was named Ickitt, the rapper took to her MySpace page to say "MY BABY IS NOT CALLED ICKITT, PICKIT OR LICKIT," followed by references to other bizarrely named celebrity spawn before signing off, ""LOTS OF LOVE, STICKIT!!" We understand there's a difference between the spellings, but it seems like the same argument Vanilla Ice used to say the music for 'Ice Ice Baby' was totally different from David Bowie and Queen's 'Under Pressure.'
