Marianne Faithfull Says Keith Richards Is a Brainy Family Man

Who knew? Keith Richards gets 'Satisfaction' from being a family man, or at least so says Marianne Faithfull. She should know. The British singer met the Rolling Stone in the mid-'60s when she was still a teen. Richards, who wrote her breakthrough hit, 'As Tears Go By,' with Mick Jagger, now appears on a version of Merle Haggard's 'Sing Me Back Home' from Faithfull's new album, 'Easy Come, Easy Go.'"He's a one-woman man, although he's had quite a few in his time," Faithfull tells Spinner. "I think he's got it right now. He's very happy with [wife] Patti Hanson. He loves his children, he loves his grandchildren."
Richards is also quite the brainiac, Faithfull says. "Keith is really interested in history. He reads incredibly intense and serious books. I remember once I met him -- we were either going to Jamaica or coming back from Jamaica -- and he was reading 'The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.' He's really quite serious about it. He's educating himself ... he's incredibly intelligent. "
