"It's not easy for me to say, 'I don't think you should go to school like that.'" --Martin Gore
Depeche Mode's founder (seen here wearing pink lipstick and eyeshadow in 1987) admitted it doesn't quite feel right confronting his 13-year-old daughter about her heavy makeup and dyed hair.

Let's hope Dennis Rodman does not have the same issues.

It's a matter of who's the parent and who's the child? How will she learn, at 13 especially, when young teens won't admit it but they WANT bounderies, without her parents' guidance? A 13 year old is atill a CHILD and whether you did it or not, you ARE still the parent. Gore needs to ACT like a parent and teach that girl now that her behavior is wrong for her age. A lot of young teens wear light make up at that age now, and being clean, light, and neat looking is okay should Gore choose to let her wear make up at all. Stop the wrong behaviors NOW before she grows up totally out of control.

This leaves the door open & comfortable to be able to talk about anything, it builds trust.
