Dandy Warhols Tell Tales at Spinner Headquarters

It's a good day at work when the Dandy Warhols stop by the Spinner office. Earlier this week, band members Courtney Taylor-Taylor and Brent 'Fatty' De Boer dropped by to play a few acoustic songs, including 'The Legend of the Last Outlaw Truckers' and an intimate take of 'And Then I Dreamt of Yes,' which Taylor said is one of many songs about relationships. Taylor told Spinner that he's been teased about having "a career based on getting dumped ... why don't we just call them all 'Courtney's Loves and Losses'?"

"Should we do one classic?" De Boer suggested, keeping the mood light as the pair broke into their final song of the day, the well-received favorite, 'Bohemian Like You.'

Taylor then chatted a bit with the staff about the band's side project -- Breathe Easy, a collaborative musical effort with all profits going to the Three Rivers Land Conservancy -- as well as growing up in Portland and the group's level of success.

"I've always been a West Side kid," Taylor said. "On the East Side they wore makeup to be ironic. On the West Side, we actually wore makeup to be pretty."

As for his attitude today? In Taylor's words: "You don't give a s--- whether you succeed or fail in anyone's mind but your own."
