Calling Southern California home to some of his "favorite musicians," Bruce Springsteen took advantage of the plethora of homegrown talent by bringing out Tom Morello and Social Distortion's Mike Ness during his two-night stand in L.A. this week.Morello made an appearance on Night One, reprising the guitar solo he did for the title track to 'The Ghost of Tom Joad' when the E Street Band hit Anaheim, California last year. Morello also lent a helping hand and vocals to the cover of 'Hard Times,' which has become the opening track of the encore for Springsteen's 'Working on a Dream' tour.
Ness was the surprise guest for Night Two, introduced by Springsteen as "someone I've been a fan of for a long time." The two then traded vocals and guitar licks on a raucous rendition of Social D's 'Bad Luck,' with Ness returning to the stage a few moments later to contribute to 'The Rising.'
Talk about getting a little help from your friends.
