Rollins Speaks Up for Gay Marriage, Bombing Beirut With Ramones

When Henry Rollins took to the stage at Coachella's Mohave tent armed with only a microphone, he told the crowd that at age 48, he's angrier than he's ever been. What's the source of his rage? Homophobia, the war on drugs and, of course, the Man. For 50 minutes, Rollins preached peace, love and understanding, speaking out in support of gay marriage, marijuana decriminalization and good will towards fellow humans. The way we achieve this, he said, is not by bashing gay bashers with bats but by hitting them withAl Green and P-Funk. Ranting against war -- all wars -- Rollins said he thinks "Israel and Palestine should both be bombed ... with Ramones records."

In addition, Rollins ordered everyone in the audience to get passports and befriend people around the globe. "The world is waiting for you with open arms," he said, telling fans that countries our government claims are our enemies are actually filled with friendly people like those here at Coachella. Rollins experienced this firsthand by going to places like Syria, Iran, Beirut and Cambodia, just to make friends. Well, if it's friends that you want, Henry, look no further than Coachella. Although, of course we'd be happy to take those Ramones records from you.
