I enjoy doing interviews about my music. My hometown newspaper and I have had a relationship since I began my career at 14 years old. Over the years, they have kept up with me and I have always been so appreciative of their support and advocacy.

When I heard that they wanted to speak to me for a cover story, I was so excited! From Rolling Stone to the Guardian, this was the publication I was most proud to talk to, let alone grace their cover. As I waited for the call to come through, I thought of all the new things in my career that I wanted to talk about. I was excited to go through the songs on my new album with the journalist. Sadly, about 30 seconds into the phone call, I realized that the woman on the other line knew nothing about me or my music. It was definitely strange, but in the end I made it on the cover -- something I'll never forget! Enjoy Episode 8 of 'One-Minute Pop Song.'
