Chairlift really love Barack Obama. Of all the shows they've played, including dates MGMT and Peter Bjorn and John, a 30-person show in West Virginia, back in November, was their favorite. (Of course, this doesn't include their upcoming tour with the Killers.)Keyboardist and singer Caroline Polachek said they broke half-way through their set to watch President Obama's victory speech.
"We opened the set with the National Anthem," she added. "It was a wonderful thing to experience," drummer Patrick Wimberly chimed.
Add another experience to that list of wonderful: the re-release of the band's debut album, 'Does You Inspire You,' following the success of their song 'Bruises,' courtesy of an iPod commercial. Not bad for a band who, as they told us, first created music fit for a haunted house.
