Aziz Ansari Battles Peter, Bjorn and John Over Mashed Potatoes

As has been the case for the past few years, Bonnaroo has become a must-play festival not just for musicians but for stand-up comics as well. Comedian Aziz Ansari has been a repeat offender at the festival's esteemed comedy tent, and returns once again this year alongside such peers as Jimmy Fallon, Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter. At a Bonnaroo press conference last week, Ansari told reporters that he's "had some great experiences seeing some bands and stuff," but that there also have been some incidents that he wasn't too happy about. Namely, a run-in with Peter, Bjorn and John in the artist catering area while he was trying to eat some mashed potatoes.

"The guys from Peter, Bjorn and John were like, 'Those mashed potatoes are for us, they are not for anybody else.' And I was like, 'No, they are for everybody," says Ansari. "And then they just started beating me up."

As a solution, Ansari proposes increased security this year. "Because I think Peter Bjorn and John are coming back again, and they are just really violent," he says. "And they beat up a lot of people ... I don't want to get hurt again."

That's pretty funny, Ansari. But we'd like to see you try the same joke using last year's headliner Kanye West instead. Actually, strike that - we'd be too afraid to laugh.
