Although they've always retained 100 percent of their street cred, the Apples in Stereo have never had any qualms about licensing their music. That said, we'd like to know their thoughts on their song 'Energy' being covered by 'American Idol' for use in a car commercial. You read that right: Just as 'Idol' stars last week took Lykke Li's 'I'm Good, I'm Gone' and made it into a Ford commercial (err, "video" as host Ryan Seacrest would have you believe), this week the remaining contestants sang 'Energy' for that same promo. The upshot is that, with a tune as catchy as 'Energy,' the Apples in Stereo may have actually picked up a hefty chunk of new fans. The downside? One of them may be Paula Abdul.
