Dears' Bus Stolen on Eve of Tour
- Posted on Apr 30th 2009 4:15PM by Benjy Eisen
We've heard of guitars and other equipment being stolen from bands on tour, even notebooks full of lyrics at airports, but a whole tour bus? There's always a first for everything and leave it to one of those indie-breaking Montreal bands to lead the way: As the Dears were packing for a six-week North American jaunt last night, they noticed something missing -- their Prevost tour bus. The band's ride was stolen from the parking lot of a Comfort Inn in St. Jean, Pointe-Claire (Canada) on the eve of the tour. Amazingly, no gear or luggage had made it on board yet. Just hopes, dreams and future stories of tour debauchery. Those future stories will still take place -- the Dears kick-off their tour Thursday night in Toronto, before heading down to Brookly,n and then snaking across the continent.
Dear Dears: We hear Greyhound has great deals right now, although you may wish to inquire about their baggage policy.

I hate the popular notion that "if I haven't heard of them they must suck." This is one of the biggest reasons that the music industry is dying. You've all been trained by the corporate radio stations if you say, "If the radio doesn't play it they must suck - so why would I buy anything by them." SUPPORT NEW MUSIC! Don't be a mainstream clone!

May 04 2009 at 1:02 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyBands Rent their tour busses, The driver is An employee of the bus rental place. Bands already have enough problems on the road. The driver was incharge of the bus. Regardless if you've heard of them on not, if they are good enough to rent a Million dollar tour bus, they are making bucks.
May 03 2009 at 11:40 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down Replywhy are people so freaking negative on here, so what if you have never heard of them.
If you havent heard of them instead of saying crap about them, why not google them or search for them on myspace and youtube and take a listen. you might be surprised. tired of hearing from stupid A$$clownz who have nothing better to do than talk trash.
how in the hell does someone steal a 45' bus? what will they do with it? a million dollar prevost is not something you can just sell after you steal it. My guess it is a publicity stunt to make headlines. NOW everyone has heard of them!
