Girl Talk Ponders Bonnaroo Guests

At a press conference for Bonnaroo last week, Girl Talk's Gregg Gillis told reporters that in keeping with the festival's spirit and frequent tradition, he wouldn't be adverse to having a guest musician on stage with him during his set this year.

"A festival setting is the perfect place for that, with everyone kind of hanging around, checkout out different bands," says Gillis. "So nothing is locked down on that tip, but I would be absolutely open to it."

That said, Gillis explains that even though his live sets incorporate hundreds of loops and include lots of improvised moments, his tracks and mash-ups take lots of calculated planning and advance thought. "It's a very slow meticulous process," he says. "So it's not like the sort of thing where I can just say 'Oh, I want to do a set where there will be Bruce Springsteen and Phish and Beastie Boys,' and just make it happen."

We understand. But if he could make it happen, Girl Talk would be the talk of Bonnaroo. (You hear that, Mr. Gillis?)
