Zee Avi, 'Bitter Heart' -- Video Premiere

Malaysian artist Zee Avi is a long way from being a lawyer, which she, admittedly, was bred to be. Discovered by White Stripes and Shins manager Ian Malone, Avi -- who grew up listening to the Beatles, Bob Marley, Janis Joplin and Simon and Garfunkel, among others -- was signed to Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records, and will release her self-titled debut May 19. The effort is preceded by the first single, 'Bitter Heart,' which just received the video treatment. "It's a simple video shot entirely on film," Avi tells Spinner. "I think the idea of the video is to put the song across with it's simplicity, since the song is an ironic number all on it's own." Watch the premiere, exclusively on Spinner.
