"She's not the best singer in the world, but she doesn't give a s---" --Wayne Coyne

The Flaming Lips frontman recently told Spinner that he finds Madonna's bold-yet-blasé attitude toward her not-so-perfect pipes "great."

Krystamar: I love it. Wow, you hit the nail on the head with it all. I was even thinking the same thing about the "Judge not" business. I knew if I kept reading these damn things somebody would comment on something worthwhile. Thanks for saving the day!

Why is Madonna worth soooo much money? Because whether you hate her guts or love her to death, you know who she is. And what she is, first and foremost, is a helluva sales woman! She has always known how to sell her goods and handle her business, for good or evil. Now....does anybody know what that little three-letter word is that happens to be the most powerful marketing tool in the world? hint: s-e-x

Madonna has not been relavent since the 1980'sand the more she tries the more rediculous she appears. I think she should just grow old gracefully, which she obviously doesn't know how to do. Maybe Demi Moore can help her or someone from the Brat Pack.

Does anyone realize that Madonna came to NY, from her hometown, with a winter coat, and I believe less than $10 to her name. However, she marketed herself so brilliantly that there is not one person who does not know who she is. You may think she cannot sing (anyone see Evita), you may think she is a tramp, you may think she is nuts, but one thing you must agree on is Madonna is brilliant. Her behavior has always been irrational, but that was her MO. By being different from everyone, she propelled herself to a household name.

Who the F*** is this guy anyway? Never heard of flaming lip. I don't really listen to Madonna;s music, but you have to hand it to the woman... She got filthy rich off of it so she's done something right.

Madonna is a product of mixing just the right bit of everything to get a great product. She's not a "great" vocalist, but she is a "good" one. She's not a "great" actress, but she is "decent". She's not "stunning" but she is "cute" (at least she once was). So, I'm with Coyne on this one...to paraphrase "She's no Sarah Brightman, but she doesn't give a ****."
That said, I did have the same initial reaction to a statement about a pop icon from the frontman of what amounts to a dinosaur indie band. Jeez...the Flaming Lips had one hit back in the early 90's (like '91?)...that was their peak, and someone said they're getting "better known"? They've had their hey day...it's almost like saying Nazareth is getting better known.
One more thing...to say Madonna's name is "blasphemous" is rediculous. For one...Madonna is her given name "Madonna Ciccone", second Madonna is Itlian for "My lady", hence a title and not a proper name, third, even if it was a name, it would be like saying anyone named "Maria" or "Jesus" had a blasphemous name. Wow...sometimes the intellectual capacity of the world at large kills me.
And is anyone else tired of "Judge not, lest ye be judged" by people who either have no idea what the context behind it is or who don't really live by it themselves?

May I add that Madonna is a washed up old skank that lives on yesterday....

SHe should do as Grace Slick (who had talent) and retire gracefully!
