Elvis Costello Expects Help From His Friends at Bonnaroo

When Elvis Costello takes to Bonnaroo's "That Tent" for a special solo performance on Saturday, June 13, he's gonna have stiff competition on all sides: Wilco, the Mars Volta and the Decemberists all have simultaneous sets on adjacent stages. At a recent press conference for the festival, Costello said that there are a number of acts he wants to see this year. "Unfortunately, a couple of them are playing at the exact same time as I am," he admitted. "I'm already plotting my way from stage to stage."
As for performing solo, Costello says he'll take the opportunity to visit material from his entire repertoire and that, because Bonnaroo has such a talent pool there already, special guests and collaborations are virtually a given.
"There is every chance that we will try and have some dueting, or whatever, going on," Costello said. "A number of people that I know are playing that day, so I think it's kind of highly unlikely that it'll be an entirely solo performance in the long run."
Could this mean that we'll finally get to see a duet between Elvis Costello and Trent Reznor? OK, so we won't hold our breaths. But still ...
