Diane Birch, 'Nothing But a Miracle' -- Video Premiere

Singer-songwriter and a preacher's daughter Diane Birch has come a long way from her goth days. Her debut album, 'Bible Belt,' recalls more Carole King and Aretha Franklin than, say, Siouxsie and the Banshees. "I think I gravitated to [goth's] dark, raw emotion because I felt so misunderstood and at times very lonely as a kid," Birch tells Spinner. "Though stylistically very different, soul music also has a rawness to it that speaks with the purest of human emotions." Birch, who worked with soul legend Betty Wright on the album, recently shot the a video for the first single, 'Nothing But a Miracle,' which was no small task. "Shooting the music video was definitely one of the more challenging things I've done as I was totally out of my creative comfort zone," she says. "I'm a bit of a control freak so I didn't have much choice but to let go and put my faith in the director." Watch the exclusive premiere below.
