Billy Boy on Poison Invade 'Fallon'

Up-and-coming rockers Billy Boy on Poison recently stopped by the Spinner office to pay a visit to the staff, still reeling after their performance on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' the night before. It had been their first nationally televised appearance, so naturally there was some celebrating afterwards. Unsurprisingly, the band was a little "tired" for their impromptu office gig, but who could blame them?

Anybody who caught their appearance on 'Fallon' knows that the L.A.-based garage rock quintet performs with the intensity of '70s punk icons, and the members carry themselves like seasoned glam rockers. Spinner was treated to acoustic versions of some of the band's tunes, including their current single, 'On My Way.'

"We like to take acoustic songs and make them our own -- it's more fun that way for us," vocalist Davis LeDuke said. While the group played a slower, grittier version of the single, we were entranced by guitarist Ryan Wallengren's vintage axe -- a worn-down Gibson with a shoelace guitar strap for added character. Wallengren, like the rest of the band, is barely in his 20s.

Though they haven't had much national touring experience yet, Billy Boy on Poison have already reached both coasts in a big way. 'On My Way' was recently featured on 'Gossip Girl,' and their music is currently making the rounds on a promo spot for the new season of HBO's 'Entourage.' The future looks bright for Billy Boy, and from what we can tell, the band has the maturity as well as the talent to handle whatever comes next.
