'The Beatles: Rock Band' Details Unveiled by McCartney, Starr

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr reunited onstage yesterday to promote 'The Beatles: Rock Band' video game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The two surviving Beatles appeared alongside Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison, the respective widows of John Lennon and George Harrison, at a conference at the University of Southern California in advance of the game's September 9 release.

"Whoever thought we'd end up as androids?" McCartney joked. To which Starr added, "The game is good, the graphics are good and we look great."

The game, which was developed by Harmonix for MTV Games with the help of Harrison's son Dhani, is unique in that it will allow for three-part vocal harmonies. Players on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii systems will be able to follow the career of the Beatles and perform as members of the Fab Four, beginning with their ascent in 1963 up to their final rooftop performance in January 1969.

Forty-five Beatles songs will be available on the game's disc, including 'I Am the Walrus,' 'Back In the U.S.S.R.,' 'Here Comes the Sun,' 'Get Back' and 'I Feel Fine.' In addition, Microsoft announced that Xbox 360 users will be able to download 'All You Need Is Love,' with proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders.

A trailer for the game is available here.
