Bands with animals in their name is nothing new. The Miniature Tigers know this. At a recent stop to the Interface, the Tigers professed their love for other animal bands: Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective and Department of Eagles. They even shouted out AOL, saying Instant Messenger (AIM) is what brought the band together."Me and Rick met a long time ago ... and just started talking through the Internet," lead singer/guitarist Charlie Brand tells Spinner.
"AOL, actually," drummer Rick Schaier adds.
The Phoenix rockers recently completed a jaunt with a different piano man, Ben Folds. What did they like best? "The ladies," Shcaier says.
"It will great to see Ben Folds every night," Brand tosses in quickly. "That's pretty important. But not as much as ladies."
