Modest Mouse will release a special 7" single on June 23, titled 'Autumn Beds.' The title track and another new ditty, 'Whale Song' -- a recent live staple -- comprise the limited-edition vinyl release, which will be individually numbered to 4,000. Get an exclusive sneak preview of 'Autumn Beds' below. We dare you to not sing "We won't be sleeping in our autumn beds" for the hours following. We tried. We failed.

When an EP is shaping up to be an album of the year candidate, what does that mean? I believe it means this band can do no wrong! There should always be a mandatory banjo "ditty" on every Modest Mouse album, but at least this one was worth the wait. Now 48 more hours until "The Whale Song" takes us all into a different dimension.

Animal Collective is whack. I will be seeing them at Lollapalooza so I will hold judgment until I can experience the live performance, but from what I've heard it's not my cup of tea. Maybe because I don't take drugs anymore...

Everyone seems surprised by the quality of this song, it's like you've never heard Ugly Casanova.

squidgemidget, I don't think many people are surprised by the quality of this song. What Modest Mouse song isn't of the highest quality?

xclassicgregx, you are one of many who think Modest Mouse are on some "decline" but in reality, the importance of all your opinions is on a decline.

remember everyone... these are B-SIDES. We Were Dead was such an amazing album. It produced classics such as Dashboard, Fire It Up, Parting of the Sensory, Missed the Boat, Fly Trapped in a Jar, Spitting Venom, and People as Places as People. Those ares are all masterpieces in their own way. If you can't get down with songs like those, just focus on Animal Collective, because if that's the type of garbage you're looking for, you won't find it here!

Remember the album Sad Sappy Sucker?
I love Modest Mouse, but that album was terrible.

It really does sound like something off of Ugly Casanova, but it kinda has that Dennis Herring-esque quality about it.

I do really love the track. Probably one of the best new Modest Mouse songs.

I kind of liked the song...

Guided... These people are crazy if they think AC is garbage.

To be album of the Year... Not only would this EP have to be better than Everywhere and His Nasty Parlour Tricks (which it wont). It will have to be better than Moon and Antarctica (are you kidding me).

These 5 releases wont even take notice when this modest mouse ep is dropped.

1)Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
2)Akron/Family - Set 'Em Wild Set 'Em Free
    3)Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest
4)The Dodos - Time To Die
5)Whatever the Flaming Lips pull out of their asses and that's saying something.

animal collective's recorded shit sucks, but they are sweet live. so far i've liked every song on this album except satellite skin. king rat and i've got it all(most) are both really good. i thought that they would throw some white lies, yellow teeth on here, since i've got it all(most) made the cut.
