Lenny has a lot of gifts, and he STILL self-medicates with pot to flee the hurt from the holes that the sins of his father left in his heart.
Now, the curious thing is that Father God, through Jesus Christ, can fill those holes better than anyone or anything.
Lenny has God and Jesus in his life, and yet he's still smoking. Very odd. Proof that sins of the father are very, very strong.
Even so, it is each person's responsibility to choose love, truth, forgiveness, and self control even if he or she has been hurt terribly by one's own childhood. Self-medicating is not the answer. It keeps one distracted and stuck in immaturity (childishness), and therefore in a form of self-centeredness (self-preservation).
Where most people get hung up, is that they think that they have to forgo their wonderful child-like joyousness and awe in order to grow up and out of childishness / self-centeredness, and so they place a low value on growing up because they think they will no longer ahve any fun.
It is a delicate balancing act, and it's certainly not always easy, but with God, a person can be both other-centered (mature), AND wonderfully and joyously child-like.
I hope more and more do.
haha anyone who didnt know kravitz smoked is an idiot...just look at lisa bonet and listen to his music just once :-)
