Alicia Keys Remembers Michael Jackson as a 'Soft-Spoken Giant'

It's been less than 24 hours since the passing of Michael Jackson, and musicians and fans alike still sit stunned and saddened by his death. Alicia Keys tells Spinner that thought the pop icon is dead, his memory will outlive us all."There is no one in the world like MJ," Keys tells Spinner. "Never has been. Never will be. We all know him in one way or another. In some way he has touched us, been the voice of one of our sweetest memories. And what a wonderful, genuine, compassionate, soft-spoken giant so full of love. He gave us love, excitement, one-of-a-kind moments in a mundane world. I can't believe he won't be with us here on earth anymore. But long from now, when we are all dust, he will still never be forgotten. To the best that ever did it! You are loved, admired and respected forever."

More than an entertainer, Michael Joe Jackson, who also told me that it was okay to call him Jacko was a human being, a person who had compassion for others. I was flabbergasted when Jacko invited me to come with him to the Middle East so that I could get away from the meanness of people around me who only wanted to use me. I couldn't believe that an icon as big as Michael Jackson and who constantly wanted to have a lifestyle private from the public was asking me to be a guest in his home abroad. More than once, Jacko tried to make life easier for me, and I will remember him as a person who reached out to pull me up.
Inside my home, Michael Jackson's music was enjoyed from the time that he started to entertain in the media, and where ever I am Michael Jackson's music will infinitely be enjoyed.
My condolences go out to Michael's family.

Of all the important things happening around the world such as the state of our economy-Wars being fought in two countries not to mention the fight against terriorism in the US --We fill the news pages with grief of a child molester--Innocent people DON'T pay off people to squelch investigations---He (Granted was a super entertainer) but one of the worst pedifiles on record..And to compare him to Elvis Presley is a travesty''There is NO comparison--I grieve for the children whose lifes were ruined and live with daily nightmares of being sodomized by this GREAT person---There were a lot more than one--BE ASSURED Thank you

Although I was decades late for the Jackson 5 and at least another decade late for Thriller, I still grew up with his music. Durty Diana was probably the first song I learned all the words to and the first Michael Jackson Cd I ever received, the Essential Michael Jackson, was probably the only CD I could play for hours and find something new and beautiful each playing. He was the Elvis of my generation and his music lit up my life. I'm close to crying again but I know that now he is finally free from the paparazzi and camera lenses. Michael, I will always remember you and I will always love you. Rest in peace!

His music helped me through the bad times and provided enjoyment through the good times. My heart is heavy, but as I've seen written, Michael...thank you for giving us all that you had to give. You will never be forgotten. Prayers to your family and friends in this hour.
